Federation of ASEAN Economic Associations (FAEA)
The Federation of ASEAN Economics Associations (FAEA) was founded in 1976 at Prapat, North Sumatra. The objective of this Federation is to promote the study of economic science in ASEAN countries on a cooperative and coordinated basis. It comprises members of the economic societies and associations from Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
Each year, a member country hosts an annual economic conference focusing on contemporary issues for the ASEAN region. In 2005, the Philippine Economic Society (PES) hosted the 30th Annual Conference of the FAEA. The host for this year’s conference is the Economic Society of Singapore (ESS).

CAMBODIA ECONOMIC ASSOCIATION
The Cambodian Economic Association (CEA)was born from the idea of a group of professionals and intellectuals involved in the Cambodian economic research. They decided to assemble their different skills to discuss current economic issues with a various range of views. Highly committed, the CEA members assign to economic research a sole goal: to alleviate poverty in Cambodia and to raise the living standard of all Cambodians. CEA is thus the perfect place to independently debate, discuss and understand the Cambodian economic landscape.

INDONESIAN ECONOMISTS ASSOCIATION
The Indonesian Economists Association or Ikatan Sarjana Ekonomi Indonesia (ISEI) was founded on January 14, 1955 in Jakarta. The capital has been the location of the Central Board ever since, with branches throughout Indonesia. ISEI is a professional organization based purely on professionalism and is not affiliated with any political parties or organizations.
ISEI aims to:
- Create a union of all Indonesian economists in order for them to contribute to the attainment of a prosperous and long-lasting nation under the tenets of Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution.
- Develop and practice economics to its fullest for the advancement of Indonesia.
- Maintain common interests and a strong bond among the members of the Indonesian Economists Association.
- Improve and develop the skills and knowledge of the Indonesian economists.

MALAYSIAN ECONOMIC ASSOCIATION
The Persatuan Ekonomi Malaysia was founded in 1962 by professional economists from the University of Malaya, the public sector and industry. The Persatuan’s objectives are to stimulate public interest in economics; to encourage the study and discussion of economic problems with special reference to Malaysia; to provide means for persons interested in economics to exchange ideas; to issue an economic review and other publications; to undertake such economic activities as the Persatuan deems appropriate for the furtherance, promotion and execution of its aforesaid objects; and to collect or otherwise acquire sums of money for educational, scientific and charitable purposes and to establish and maintain foundations for such purposes. The Persatuan is affiliated to the Federation of ASEAN Economic Associations and International Economic Association.

PHILIPPINE ECONOMIC SOCIETY
The Philippine Economic Society (PES) was established in August 1962 as a non-stock, non-profit professional organization of ECONOMISTS. Over the years the society has served as one of the strongest links among the members of the economic profession in the academe, government and the business sector. Recognized among the international community of professional economic associations, and a founding member of the Federation of Asean Economic Associations (FAEA), the PES truly stands to be a significant national and international institution.
The PES continuously provides a venue for open and free discussions of a wide range of policy issues through its conferences and symposia. With its publication, the Philippine Review of Economics (PRE), the society also performs a major role in the improvement of the standard of economic research in the country.

ECONOMIC SOCIETY OF SINGAPORE
The Economic Society of Singapore (ESS) was established on July 28, 1956 as a non-government professional organization of economists and economics graduates.
The ESS brings together, and provides a platform for discussions among, members of the economics profession in academia, the government and business sectors. The primary objective of the ESS is to raise public awareness, and stimulate public interest and debate, in economic issues.

ECONOMIC SOCIETY OF THAILAND
The Economic Society of Thailand was established on July 9, 1963. The objectives of EST are:
- To promote and encourage the study of economics, economic research and discussions for the advancement of economic science and a better understanding of current economic conditions and problems.
- To disseminate economic knowledge.
- To be known both locally and abroad as a centre for the exchange of economic information and knowledge.
- To promote good relations between members and between members and non-members alike.
EST has organized annual economic conferences covering major fields of interest and emerging policy issues of public interest for the last 20 years. Currently EST pays special attention in promoting closer relationship and networking among young economists in Thailand and ASEAN member countries.
VIETNAM ECONOMIC ASSOCIATION
The Vietnam Economic Association (VEA) was established in 1974. It is a national non-governmental professional organisation of Vietnamese economists. Its main tasks include promoting exchange of knowledge and practical experiences in economics, providing development policy evaluation and business consultancy, and organising training courses, conferences and workshops on economic issues. With branches in many provinces in Vietnam, it has more than 4,000 members. VEA has branches in many provinces in Vietnam. There are 20 research, consulting and development institutions operating under VEA’s scientific sponsorship. VEA publishes the Vietnam Economic Times, a leading economic newspaper in Vietnam. It also created and manages the Hanoi Business and Technology University, which has now almost 10,000 students at graduate and undergraduate courses.
